ONScripter Issues

Well, playing with ONScripter for PSP, I found that it needs images and all to be at a reduced size. I'll have issues making both a PSP and a PC/Mac version project.

PSP and More

Well, I'm running my new PSP Slim on 3.71 M33-2. I'm now playing Harvest Moon Innocent Life, Star Wars Battlefront Renegade and Gundam Battle Chronicles, as well as Monster Hunter Portable 2nd and Tales of the World.

I'll try and get screenshots up, if I can get it to work ingame. Also, I've gotten around to posting prices for art.

What's been going?

It's been a while since I've last posted.
My latest developments:

-My favorite flash drive (2gig San Cruzer Micro) died.
-I've gone into art.

My new art site is: http://twar3net.mine.nu/
You'll want to check there from now on.

Secondly, why is the blogger interface in Japanese?

EDIT: I guess it was in Japanese since that is what my locale is set too. I'm using Windows Live Writer now.

Don't expect...

Oh, on top of the last entry...

Don't expect a review for Gurumin. There is no way I'll be able to write something from an unbiased viewpoint.

Too much?

When do you know when you've played too much of a game?

I figure it's when it becomes your wallpaper, you fav any picture you find with the main character in it at deviantArt, and you start drawing FanArt of it.

What does that reveal in my case?
...
...
......
......

.........
............
I've been playing too much Gurumin. That's all I can say. I should stop, and play something. Well, who cares? *rushes off to play Gurumin*

Artsy Wishes...

Not really relevant to most of the other stuff that I blog or post about, but I've been in an artsy mood recently. I went out and bought a new sketch book, even though I haven't gotten around to using 50% of my first one... I also bought a set of pencils, with stuff that I probably won't use (sandpaper, paper stumps, charcoal pencils).
Somehow, I forgot to get colors... It's actually too bad that the store only sells Copic Sketch, but worse that they don't have them available in sets :-( . I'll probably have to save up some cash and order a set of Copic Markers.

-Lots of loading
-Music that makes me sleepy

The Legend of Heroes

Well, I've gone out and purchased a lesser known game, of which there is not a big hype. The name is The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion. So far, I've gotten up to New Borun, at a point where the town is covered in Toxic Fog.
I absolutely adore the game's battle system. Unlike other RPG games, the battle system has a more location/movement based system where you character will move closer to a foe for attack, and stay there. This adds a new level of tactics into play, as our heroes can only attack those in range, and for some magic attacks, only those around them.
The graphics are great, 2D character sprites with a 3D Terrain System. The lack of a world map travel system is refreshing. Instead of traveling ridiculously vast expansing in a small amount of time, the player must trek through monster infested roads to reach the next part of the game.
    My verdict:
-Graphics 8.5/10
-Music 7/10
-Story 7.5/10
-Gameplay 9/10

Average: 8/10
It's not one of those games that you absolutely must play, but it's certainly one of those that would help pass the time and not send you to the Pit of Utter Boredom.

Obtained 1 PSP(s).

I have purchased a PSP now! :)
Let's see, the box has version K, which I believe is 2.71. Hopefully ONScripter will work on something that is not 1.0/1.5.

Plans

I was looking into getting the following:

-Comic Party Portable
http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/2616

-Eureka Seven
http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/3711

-Disgaea
http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/5859

-Kanon
http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/5763

-Monster Hunter
http://www.himeyashop.com/product_info.php...roducts_id/3343

Of course, I'll be running ONScripter on PSP.

I love the lack of region locking. :)
If you guys know of any good games for it (preferably available in Japanese), feel free to tell me! I'm not into action games or eroge, though. If you know a shop (preferable in the rage of Holland, Michigan, USA or Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA) please tell me. It's a hassle to order online when I can go to a shop.

PSP

After getting my hands on a PSP Build of ONS Scripter, and the cash to get one, I probably will. This weekend at most.

I've been looking at PSP, and the features that entice me the most are:
-web browser,
-Flash
-codecs
-music, video
-REGION FREE (i can finally play JA games w/o need a modchip)

Lost my 2gig

I lost my 2GB Flash Drive a school. :(
It was my defacto development environment for Python, GIMP, and Blender. Still, all can get better if I locate my 1GB one...

RenPy

After my bad experiences with C# and SDL/XNA, I decided to approach a different engine. RenPy. RenPy is a Visual Novel engine. Yes, visual novel.

RenPy is based in Python, and it works pretty well. I can say that indentations in Python are stricter than Ruby, so I guess it's forcing clean code.

Check it out!

Tutorial

I've decided to write a tutorial for Game Programming with C#, starting from learning C# to DirectX/OpenGL.

SDL.Net

Well, I tried to use SDL.Net, however that wasn't too cooperative with me. I'll have to go another round by "blind" coding it, instead of listening to what the SDL.Net people say.

It's strange that SpaceWars could compile with XNA, and run fine. I'll see if I can "blind" code with the XNA, as well.

Figured I'd get on the blog trend...

Well, I figured that I would get blogging, pretty much since everyone else is as well. At the time of this post the page template was Blogspot's "Minima Black". I'll see if I can change that later.

Well, I tried Microsoft's XNA, but that didn't run so I'll be trying out SDL.Net to see if that will do. It's different from XNA, so I'll have to learn it. :(
